My running journey of discovery started in 2010. I really enjoyed student life and gained about 30 kilos. Something had to be done. I focused on my nutrition and started running. Within a few months I was back to a healthy weight and kept running.

In 2012 I started running with the Running Junkies in Amsterdam. Every week on Tuesday night I was there for a 10K across town, rain or shine, I got better, faster and stronger. Being challenged brings out the best in me. After a while I discovered a running track that we could use and founded “Thirsty Thursday” where we do the workouts that I came up with.

I signed up for the Berlin Marathon in 2013 and that's where my running career really started. I prepared extensively and found out what it takes to train for and run a marathon.

After that, the spark never disappeared. I have become smarter and have more knowledge about training and racing. Learned from my mistakes. I am a student of sports. I know what it takes to hit goals, how to get there and embrace the process. Ultimately, the process is where the beauty, fun and enjoyment lies.

Those who run know that running is not just about fitness. It is essential for mental health, making sure your mood stays positive. That is why staying healthy is the most important pillar of the running programs.
